Attaching the two halves is just about the same whether you have a
switch in the control box or not. The two small screws that go through
the outer band are what clamps the halves together. They screw into
the inner band which has threaded holes. Once everything is slid
together then you can tighten these down and the tubes will be held
together very rigid.
The control box is held on by a single hex bolt set-screw that
attaches to the middle hole in the mid-band. For the EL style with the
switch, you pop the cap off of the switch and the control box just
sits right over it and one it is screwed in place the cap should pop
back in the switch and ride inside the hole in the back end of the
control box. If the switch does not faction freely then there is a lot
of adjustment in the way the bands fit together as one can be slid up
and down or side to side and then tightened back up to try to install
the box again to see if you have a good fit. Try this a few times as
it take a good eye to line it up right the first time.
